The Transfers

Carolina All Day caught up with South Carolina's power group, fresh outta Winthrop University, The Transfers. From Music to School, we dive into it all. Enjoy.

CAD: Where are you from?

J. Scott: The group originated in Rock Hill but I’m from Sumter…Drumma SC is from Cheraw and S. Willie is from Spartanburg.

CAD: Who are the members of the group?

S. Willie: Transfers consists of me, Stephen “S. Willie” Williams, James “Drumma SC” Little, Jonathan “J. Scott” Scott.

CAD: You all attended WU…how important has your education been in your music career?

Drumma SC: Very! Ever since we came together to form “Transfers” we hit the ground running so our education has been instrumental in getting to where we are now. Me and J. Scott being marketing majors helped give us the know-how to create promo material, come up with marketing strategies etc.

J. Scott: It helps us to be more aware when people tryna fuck us over too. Outside of our college education, you gotta have knowledge about the music industry, if not, people will try to take advantage of you.

S. Willie: to add to that, being a Mass Communication major helped when it came to the production and creative concepts of our “Lay Up Girl” & “Body Roll” videos.

CAD: Have you collaborated with any Carolina artist?

Drumma SC: We collab’d with Charlotte’s own King Carter and Royal-tee. Gully Mack from Greensboro, NC…TrapStar from Greenville, SC. We have more in the works so stay tuned for other hot collabs. We are really bout this Carolina unity and its good to see that the other artists we’re working with are just as receptive and driven to help put on for the Carolinas .both North and South.

CAD: Where do you see the “Transfers” in 5 years?

S. Willie: Still making hot music and touring around the world…we feel we are worldwide artists so the sky is the limit with us!

Drumma SC: we see grammy’s, oscars and all that shit in our future to be honest..we’re definitely confident and our talent. We feel we create music that will give us longevity in the music industry.

CAD: What projects are you currently working on?

J. Scott: We are currently working on our mixtape hosted by DJ Chuck T and DJ B-Lord and our next album. Drumma has a project in the works. We are also pushing our current single 2’Oclock.

CAD: Where can ppl hear your music online?
