Midday Miss: The Eastside of Wilmington, NC

CAD: What made you want to pursue a career in radio?

Mid Day Miss: I have always been an "entertainer" I have don independent films, theater, I am a dancer and model. This was another form that I felt I had enormous potential. God gave me the gift of pearly gab!

CAD: What was your first job in radio?

Mid Day Miss: My current job with WMNX-COAST 97.3 I was trained by Gerald McSwain the Jammer . . He gave me all the tools I needed to be the best and I never locked back!



CAD: What is the main mistake artists make when trying to approach you about airplay?

Mid Day Miss: Tellin ME that it the hottest ish I ever heard . . How are you gonna tell me what to feel?
Also coming up to me in the club when I am just out having drinks tryna relax . . Then they walk up to give me a CD . . .now I gotta walk around with yo shit all night? Most of my club gear does not have pockets.

CAD: What is your advice for Carolina artists who want to succeed in the music industry?

Mid Day Miss: Grind . . .and not just say you are doing it. Really grind. It has become a cliché and people don't understand that it means making an investment in yourself and developing a brand that is constant.

Mid Day Miss: To God Almighty for blessing me with such a wonderful job and allowing me to stay as many have lost their jobs, my mother and father James and Corine McClammy for standing behind my every move-- even when I got my master's degree in Liberal Arts, my best friends, Brandon Hickman and Kim Charles-Wallace who are always there for me even if I ring their phone at 4am and my former PD's Phillip March and Lou Bennet.
