Small World
Summer has been so hot, we at Carolina All Day just had to keep the heat coming for July. We feature a Carolina Legend in the game and DTP's own, Small World. The first artist to hit the main stream for Carolina since Petey, Small World has become one of the front runners for this Carolina movement. We sat down with Small World for an exclusive interview that boasts why he is our July Featured of the Month.

CAD:Where are you originally from?
Small World:I was born in a small, rough town called Henderson in northern NC. Raised
between Ruff Raleigh and Henderson as a kid.
CAD:You've worked with countless artists, major and indie. Describe the
difference, if any?
Small World:The difference between working with major and indie artists is everybody is
different as people period so you deal with each situation accordingly. I've
been in the game since I was a teen so I don't really get star struck. As
long as the energy is good, I'm good. I make hits/classics so any artist out
there who wants to collab that's about making hits, get at Small World. I
does this!
CAD:What do you feel you bring to the game that may differentiate you from other
artists?
Small World:I bring it. Simple. I don't half step. I don't even write these days. I just
go into the booth and do what I do like these other rappers claim to do but
don’t. Whether it's rapping or singing, I do what's best for that particular
track. I'm one of the only artist in the game that can do both without
making up fake stories. I can sing to your girl and end your favorite
rapper's career all at the same time. It's really a beautiful thing.
CAD:What Carolina artists have you collaborated with?
Small World:I have songs with my brothers from another, my group NORFCLK, my famm Ike N'
Shyst, Big Prime, Ricky Ruckus, my bro YOUNGFLETCHER.COM….the list goes on. Can't remember everybody. Oh, Blackstorm too and more. Sorry
if I forgot someone.
CAD:How did you land the DTP deal?
Small World:Free formerly of 106 and Park was a friend at the time. She and I were
managed by Wyclef Jean when I was a teen. She shopped my/our, NORFCLK's
street album "Souf Born" to some people and I chose to sign with DTP/Def
Jam. It's safe to say we could've been the best hip hop trio since the
Fugees if we had have been marketed correctly. Things happened so we split.
We will always be brothers though. Always. I was kept as a solo artist. So
was Brolic Da King. We both have highly anticipated solo projects.

CAD:What have you learned from being around one of the South's Top Artist-
Ludacris?
Small World:Ludacris is one of the world's top artists period, not just the south so
it's always a pleasure to make songs with dude. Not many people can shine
along side of him. I myself rise to the occasion every time. God is good, no,
great!
CAD:When can we expect a Small World DTP Album?
Small World:When people, Carolina, acts like they are ready, the album will drop. In the
Carolinas we have a problem with breaking through, deal or no deal. I'm the
next anticipated artist to blow up from NC so hopefully I can keep this fire
burning forever, even after my album(s) drop. Look out for my street
album/mixtape, "The Carolina Blueprint", early fall 2009!!! The NC rap game
will change. Mark my word.
CAD:How did you link up with Freeway for the track On Paper?
Small World:One of my business partners, The Dean, is from Philly so he was hyped when
Freeway came into town, ATL. He set it up. It turned out to be a slept on
classic. Freeway is one of the best to do it so it was a humbling experience
to be in the studio with dude. Shout out to, NC's own, Writer's Block for
doing the track. We make classics!!!
CAD:What projects are you currently working on?
Small World:As I mentioned earlier, "The Carolina Blueprint" mixtape/album, my album
"World Premiere" and a host of other things to come. I'm shooting my next
big video in July for my latest single "Time of Day" so look out for that as
well. I'm looking for something beautiful to play the main girl too so see
my myspace.com/smallworldpremiere page for details!!!

CAD:Where can the fans listen to Small World online?
Small World:Google me. I'm around. Myspace.com/smallworldpremiere of course too for the exclusives!
CAD:Shout outs...
Small World:To all across the world who got love for this Small World
shit!!! Shout out to the U.K. because they got love for Small World
overseas. I promise I'm coming over there when I get off probation. Shout
out to everybody who bump that Small World shit. I will never let you down!
