CAD: Where are you from?

DRE: I was born in Madison Wisconsin. Me and my family moved to Raleigh North Carolina when I was 2 months old and lived there ever since.

CAD: When did you know you wanted to direct videos for artists?

DRE: Since I was a little kid It was always in the back of my mind that I wanted to be a video director, back when BET & MTV used to show videos all day. I never took it serious until last year around this time. That was when I officially started doing videos. I have my own label M.E. Army. and at the time we were searching for videographers so we could shoot a video for one of my artists first single. Everybody I came in contact with were chargeing anywhere from $500 to $1500 to $3000. We didn't have that type of money to invest in a video. Long story short, I got a job, did research on equipment, videos, effects, purchased my own camera and started doing street videos for my team and everything just grew after that.

CAD: Name some of the Carolina artists you have collaborated with?

DRE: I've shot, edited and directed videos for Casino Crisis, Big Money Live, Troop 41, Deniro, Ike & Shyst, Cash, Madison Jay and alot more.

CAD: Have you directed any films for major artists?

DRE: Yes I have, A few artist I have shot videos for are Lil Chuckee (Young Money), Slim Dunkin (1017 Bricksquad), Lil Cap (1017 Bricksquad), Young Dro (Grand Hustle), Rich Kid Shawty aka Shad (Grand Hustle ..also T.I's cousin) and alot more.

CAD: Who is one artists you want to work with in the future?

DRE: Its too many to name. But one artist I would really like to work with would have to be J.Cole. I'm such a big fan of his music, He's one of the few artists whos lyrics really paint a picture. I would be honored to work with him.

CAD: What is your advice for young people in the Carolinas who want to get into directing?

DRE: Dont depend on nobody to get you where you want to be in life. That goes for any type of career you are looking to get into. Theres alot of work that you have to put in on your own before you can get help from anybody else. Also DONT let anybody tell you what you can and cannot do! Dont let anybody decide your dreams for you!..

CAD: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

DRE: I see myself living in Atlanta GA. Still doing videos and working with my team M.E. Army. Probably move onto movies. Not exactly rich but pretty much set lol.

CAD: What projects are you currently working on?

DRE: I just hopped on a big project for the young rapper Lil Buna (R.I.P.) A documentary on her life. We are still in the planning process of everything. Hopefully will have something out next year around this time. Other than that, just working on these videos.
